An exercise in truth

Fiction: The more one sweats, the more fat is burned.
Fact: Aerobic exercise increases the pumping of the heart which, in turn, burns more calories

Fiction: Electric stimulation or body wraps in specific areas are good substitute for exercise.
Fact: A successful exercise program involves frequent physical activity that is rhythmic and repetitive. It should challenge your cardiovascular system use large muscles.

Fiction : Exercise increases appetite
Fact : Some form of exercise release a chemical in the brain called beta-endorphin that produces a state of relaxation, thus suppresses appetite.

Fiction: You can eat as much as you want, as long as you exercise.
Fact: achieving in healthy body entails proper balance between food intake and physical activity.

Please also consider warning those with critical illnesses such as ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) that exercise is NOT advisable. Conserving energy is needed with this condition. Typically, yes I'm all for a healthy amount of regular exercise, but like everything in life, there are exceptions to each rule. Good post!
