a VIEW to a Killer

Best Blogger Tips
Women with  breast cancer  are detected by mammography have better prognosis than women whose cancers are detected through other means. Some patient  that have improved chances may last 10 years after diagnosis.

Although mammograms are becoming more common and they are picking up smaller tumors, doctors traditionally haven't considered the methods cancer detection important in choosing treatments or assessing risk of recurrence.

Most treatment decisions are based on whether the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes, the size of the tumor, the estrogen and progesterone receptor status, and the age of women in the time of diagnosis. The baseline of having mammograms is between 35-40 years old. When you reach 40 you should have a yearly  mammogram.
Prior to examination, patient should avoid taking coffee or other caffeinated drinks, such as colas and teas, to avoid the pain during the session.  Since caffeine  makes the women breast more sensitive.

Great barriers reaps wonders for Safe Sex

Best Blogger Tips
It is very important to practice safe sex to avoid unwanted pregnancies and to reduce the risk of contracting a sexually transmissible infection such as genital herpes, hepatitis, gonorrhea or HIV.

A woman taking oral contraceptive pill will not be protected against sexually  transmitted diseases, only the pregnancy.  The chance of becoming pregnant  while using condom is 2 percent to 10 percent, depending on how carefully it is used and whether it is used in conjunction with a spermicide.
If you had unprotected sex or if the condom may have failed, see the doctor as soon as possible.   Emergency contraception ( the morning after pill) is available on prescription, but must be used with in 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse.

Condoms provide a physical barrier to sperm and sexually transmitted diseases, and their effectiveness is dependent upon their correct use.  Condoms should always be stored away from heat and sunlight, and should be discarded if they are beyond their expiry date.

Condoms maybe damaged by heat, if they handled roughly, or if the vagina is so dry.   Spermicides provide only limited lubrication , so they may also need a lubricant.  Vaginal antifungal creams can damage condoms and diaphragms .  Unsuitable lubricants ( such as cooking oil or baby oil)  may also damage condoms.  Vaseline or butter can destroy the condom barrier with in 60 seconds.

Spermicides should be used in conjunction with condoms and diaphragms to increased their reliability.  Or maybe you need seek advice from your doctor..

Coconut oil

Best Blogger Tips
Coconut oil doesn't have a good reputation.  It is said to raise  blood cholesterol and causes heart disease.  But this is far from the truth.
A study on hydrogenated coconut oil gave birth to this misconception.  It is now knows that the process of hydrogenation creates trans fatty acids (TFAs) which are toxic entities that enter cell membranes, hamper the body's use of essential fatty acids and interfere with normal cell functions.TFAs also cause a rise in  blood cholesterol.  This is according to the expert.

But TFAs are not present in natural coconut oil.

In some country like Polynesia and Sri Lanka  supplier of this products, shows that dietary coconut oil does not lead to high serum cholesterol or to high mortality or morbidity from coronary heart diseases.  Study show no change in serum cholesterol level from intake of coconut oil.

Coconut oil is saturated fat, hence the bad rap.  Unfortunately, most dietary guidelines fail to distinguish between different kinds of saturated fats and insist that all saturated fats are harmful. This is misleading: scientist now recognize that just as there is good cholesterol, there are also good saturated fats.

Fats are either short -, medium or long chain based on the number of carbon molecules they contain.  Nearly two thirds of the saturated fat in coconut oil is easily broken down and used as fuel by the body, not sored.  These types of fatty acids are less likely to cause obesity.

Nearly 50 percent of the fatty acid in natural coconut oil is lauric acid, which is converted to the fatty acids monolaurin in the body.

Lauric acid:
  •  helps a variety of microorganisms including bacteria, yeast and fungi.
  • Destroy the lipid membrane of enveloped viruses like HIV, measles, herpes simplex virus (HSV-1) and influenza
  • May help in treating AIDS. (still in research)
  • Is a major component of human breast milk that help protects children from illness in infancy
Capric Acid, which comprises another seven percent of coconut oil fat content, also stimulates antimicrobial activity.

Energize with Walking

Best Blogger Tips
I am not fond of exercise. I am lazy if I don't have companion. If my daughter is doing some yoga, that's the time I will joined with her. I just doing some basic exercise when I got up in bed. For all those have lazy butt, maybe its time for us to have walking.
As far as the medical benefits go, walking covers all the bases.  It decreases your risk of heart diseases and type II diabetes. Waling also lowers blood pressure and bad LDL cholesterol, while raising good HDL level.  As an aerobic exercise, walking trains the heart as a muscle and sheds pounds while also being low impact. It doesn't aggravate the knees and joints as much as a high impact sport would.
The 10,000 steps that was originate in Japan, the concept has caught on in the states as a simple way to walk five miles a day, roughly 10,000 steps. Even if you're basically sedentary, normal activities ( getting up to grab the phone, typing on your computer) start you off with 2000 or so spaces.  For the rest, you need to get creative, you can walk your dog in the late afternoon, or maybe kids would love to have nature hike. You can stroll on the park in the morning for 2 hours.

In truly inclement weather, head for the mall for some fast paced window shopping, or gym's treadmill.  Or if there is stairs at home, with enough visits to the attic and basement, you'll reach 10,000 steps in no time!!

So what you're waiting for? lets do walking!!
