To keep our antioxidant network strong and effective, we must constantly replenish the oxidants we lose every second of every day as we carry on our normal activities. What we ate can be huge difference in our ability to maintain the antioxidant advantage and keep our bodies and mind functioning at optimal levels.
Foods rich in antioxidant:
- apples
- berries
- carrots
- citrus fruits
- cruciferous vegetables ( broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, cabbage, red grapes and wine, sesame oil,and seeds, soy foods, spinach, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, tea, turmeric, walnuts and squash- they are all pack with antioxidants.
Of course there is no substitute for a healthy, well balanced diet. Supplements can help enhance the health benefits of food, but they cannot do the work alone. You should eat an assortment of brightly colored fruits and vegetables daily to ensure that you are getting full range of phytochemicals.
Limit your fat consumption in your daily diet. Canola oil, olive oil, flaxseed oil and peanut oil are the healthiest. Solid fats, such as stick margarine and butter should be avoided because they promote the formation of diseases promoting fats.
