More food safety concerns

Best Blogger Tips

Some health authorities are advising against eating raw alfalfa sprouts for young children, pregnat women, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems because raw sprouts have been implicated in numerous outbreaks of salmonella and E. coli infection.  The message is loud and clear- consumers must be deligent about thoroughly washing any raw food even if it requires peeling.

Esherichia coli (E.coli) is a kind of bacteria that occurs naturally in our bowel where it lives happily and harmoniously.  The problem occurs when this bad news bacterium is transferred to other parts of the body, where it's not quite so welcome.  Eat something tainted  with E. coli and you'll be grateful to live to regret it.  Children, elderly people or anyone with a weak immune system can die from the infection.  The rest of us will suffer from symptoms that include at least seven days of severe diarrhea and abdominal cramps.

Post Traumatic Post

Best Blogger Tips

Traumatic experiences literraly scare us half to death.  They shake the foundation of our beliefs abput safety and shatter our assumptions of trust.  After the experience we can find purselves behaving and acting strangely, which disturbs us even more.

Post traumatic stress disorder is a type of psychological damage that can occur after you experience, witness or participate in an overwhelming frightening event.  The even may be catastrophic and may involve many people, such as an earthquake, typhoon, airplane crash or major flood. It could be something low key that has happened to the relatively few people, maybe only you.

Perhaps, it was a serious accident or you were the victim of crime.  Understanding normal responses to these abnormal events can aid you in coping effectively with your feelings, thoughts and behaviors, and help you along the path to recovery.

Shock and denial are typical responses to disasters and other kinds of trauma, especially shortly after the event.  Both shock and denial and normal protective reactions. Shock is a sudden and often intense disturbance of your emotional state that may leave you feeling stunned or dazed.  Denial involves not acknowledging fully the intensity of the event.  People often report they feel numb or disconnected from life.

Thoughts and behavior patterns are affected by the trauma.  As the initial shock subsides, reactions vary from one person to another. Feelings become intense and unpredictable.  You might be especially anxious, nervous, or depressed, and experience vivid flashbacks which occur for no apparent reason.  You may find it difficult to concentrate and make decisions or become more easily confused.  Sleep and eating patterns can become disrupted.  You  might experience physical symptoms like rapid heart  beat, sweating, headaches, and nausea.  Chest pain can accompany extreme stress and pre-existing medical conditions may worsen.

Best Blogger Tips
http://www.ayushveda.com/magazine/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/eye-make-up-296x300.jpg
Serious health risks from Cosmetic use are rare.  problems usually occur because of  thoughtfulness on the part of the user.  Be informed consumer, educate yourself on your family on how to use these everyday  products safely.

Be careful when using aerosol products.  It is dangerous to use aerosol hairspray near heat, fire, or while smoking.  Untill hairspray is fully dry, it can ignite and cause serious burns.  Injuries and deaths have occured from fires related to aerosol hairsprays.  If aerosol sprays or powders are inhaled, they can cause lung damage.

Cosmetics become contaminated with bacteria that the brush or applicator sponge picks up from your skin. Wash your hands before using makeup. Wash and air dry your brushes and applicators regularly and never share makeup.

Keep makeup containers closed tight when not in use.  Throw away any makeup if the color changes or an odor develops. Preservatives can degrade over time or if left in sunlight and may niot be able to fight bacteria.

Artificial nails can be source of problems, especially when not applied correctly.  Artificial nails must be completely sealed because any space between the natural nail and the artificial nail gives fungal infections can lead to permanent nail loss.

The most common injury from cosmetics is from scratching the eye with mascara wand.  If eye scratches are left untreated they can result in infection.  Such infections can lead to ulcers on the cornea, loss of lashes, or extreme cases, blindness.  Play it safe.  Never apply mascara while riding in a car, bus, train or plane.

Sleepinh while wearing eye make up can cause problems, too.  If mascara flakes into your eyes while you sleep, you might awaken with itching, bloodshot eyes, and possibly infection or eye scratches.  To avoid eye infection or injury, remove all make up before going to bed.

Don't use eye cosmetics if you have an eye infection such as conjunctivitis (pink eye), and throw away any makeup you wer using when you first discovered the infection.

Putting Love (Not Sex) Back in your Marriage

    Best Blogger Tips
It's all so perfect when those in love first start out.  They can't keep their eyes or their hands off each other.  They seem to live to engage and excite each other in every way possible.

There are many complains I have heard from a friend. The wife complaining that her husband is demanding too much sex: "He doesn't respect that I'm tired or upset; he isn't romantic; he wants even I'm sick". And so forth.

Husband reponds, "She never in th mood; she acts as if it's burden; she always ignore me at night; she doesn't seem to make me a priority in her life at all". They have different complains.

So the question becomes, how much is enough sex for married couple, and if you're not in the mood, should you have sex anyway?

Total strangers have sex.  People who love each other make love.  We seek out taking care of each other in  giving each other  this pleasure because God made our bodies to experience deep pleasure in sexual expression of emotional need for intimacy.
One only has sex when one is in the mood.  Some people get in the mood and go have casual or completely anonymous sex.  We are seeing that lately with young adults on college campuses who hook up solely for sexual release.

The goal of lovemaking is to give pleasure and sexual release to the person whose life you've committed to.  There is no "being in the  mood" for that.  You dont even have to be in the mood for sex at all to still be loving and caretaking of your beloved's needs.  However, it does seem to turn out that when engaging in sexual intimacies for the pleasure of your spouse, you'll often find yourself getting aroused also.  You've experienced that for sure, the same way  you might not feel hungry until you taste that first delectable morsel.

So, since strangers can have sex, but only people in love can make love, we have to stop thinking about the schedules and how we are tired from other things, and sometimes even men want to cuddle for closeness, which leads to more activity. So you better should have time to each other after those hectic schedules. Spend more quality time and don't stop saying I love you to each other.

That's what it is supposed to be like.  People who love each other should look at each other as an oasis, whose flowers they tend with loving care.

    Quotes for Today!

    Best Blogger Tips
You see, it's never the environment; it's never the events of our lives, but the meaning we attach to the events - how we interpret them - that shapes who we are today and who we'll become tomorrow.

    Nibble away at fat

    Best Blogger Tips

Want easy to lower your lipid levels? try eating several small meals throughout the day instead of one or two larger meals. People who eat six or more meals a day have cholesterol levels up to five percent lower than those of people who eat just one or two meals a day. even better, the frequent eaters have lower cholesterol levels even though they consume more total calories and fat. Eating frequently appears to influence your metabolism by preventing spikes in insulin production and reducing cholesterol production in the body.

    Popeye's prostate protection

    Best Blogger Tips
    http://www.klamathicesports.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/spinach.jpg
We've long known that tomatoes are good for the health of your prostate gland. But tomatoes are not alone anymore. Spinach may be one of the top foods for fighting prostate cancer .

Spinach has a high nutritional value and is very rich in antioxidants, especially when fresh, steamed, or quickly boiled. It is a rich source of Vitamin A(and especially high in lutien),Vitamin C,vitamin E , vitamin K, magnesium, manganese, folate, iron, vitamin B2, calcium, potassium, vitamin B6, folic acid, copper, protein, phosphorus, zinc, niacin, selenium and omega-3 fatty acids. To benefit from the folate in spinach, it is better to steam it than to boil it. Boiling spinach for four minutes can halve the level of folate. Spinach is considered to be a rich source of iron. Spinach also has a high Calcium content.

    You're getting Cherry sleepy

If you're having a trouble falling sleep, put down the warm milk and try eating a couple of handfuls of cherries an hour or two before bed. The tart cherries are one of the best natural sources of melatonin, a popular over the counter sleep aid. You can keep the pits off the sheets by drinking juices made with cherry concentrate; they have ten times the melatonin content of the fruit.
